Having fun being Harveys!

Again, it's been a while since I have posted pics to our blog. We are having a great time becoming a well-functioning family once more! Bryan is really enjoying playing with the kids, and looking at the plethora of pics and video that he didn't get to see while he was in Iraq (he always just got the 'best' ones). We are working on both houses, getting the townhouse ready to rent (prayerfully soon!) and putting stuff away in this house as well. I am not so great at staying focused on ONE task until it is complete, so Bryan is helping me with that.
Kayne is sick with two ear infections and having a problem with his legs... it's nice having Daddy home to help me feel better about him being sick. I always felt SO responsible when it was just me, but having him here makes me feel so much calmer :-)

OK, OK... it is late and my hubby is already in bed! More info and pics later--but here is one of Kayne at his Dr's appt. So SAD!

awwww... Kayne is sick. Daddy is sad, too, buddy!

Hello All!

Sorry that it has taken so long to update this! We have been enjoying our time trying to re-introduce ourselves to one another, and once again find our roles in the family. Elyse seems pretty stoked to have Daddy around, but doesn't so much like the idea of another disciplinary figure to help squash her attitude :-).
Kayne, on the other hand has been ELATED to have Bryan here, and curious as to how far he can push his affection before it turns to discipline. One occasion of note was Monday morning when Kayne woke up and was jumping on his sister's bed yelling "Dadddd! Daddddddd!" When Bry finally looked, Kayne lifted up his t-shirt to show Daddy his tummy. LOL! It was hilarious!

This morning Bryan took the vehicle to work, while we slept, so Kayne did not get to say goodbye and watch Daddy leave. When he finally did get up and get dressed, he was running around the room with his hands up as if to say "Where's Dad?" and he kept calling for him while he was looking. It was so sad! Elyse and I kept telling him that Daddy was at work but he would be back. Obviously 1 year old's don't have ANY concept of time--so, needless to say, it was a LONG day.

On the right (at the top, on the youtube video bar) is a slideshow that I made of some of the pics from the homecoming ceremony. I do have a FULL video of our reunion, but I am going to add to the CD when we go to the redeployment ceremony on Friday and hopefully will have a few videos posted by next week. We love and miss all of you, and can't WAIT to see you!!

We're here, and it's happening!

Tomorrow at Noon, we become a WHOLE family again! I really can't believe that this is all happening... and seems so fast, yet so anticipated as well. I will post pictures and video of our reunion as soon as I get them and have some free time ;-)

I love all of you, and thank you sooooooo much for your support during this deployment!

Lets get the heck out of here!!!

Headed out west...

Hey guys! I'm UBER busy packing and what-not... but we are OFFICIALLY headed out west tomorrow to pick up Bryan. I cannot believe it, but I am running around like crazy... so if I can post more later, I will. I will get him this weekend, but hopefully will have a couple minutes to share more details later on!

So, no Bryan this week! It's OK, though, because we were having quite a time with lodging and a few other things. Although, a good friend of mine, Amy, offered her home to us and eased some of my anxiety about the trip to Fort Polk. As of right now, Bry should be home by the end of next week. Obviously that is tentative, and subject to change at any time. At this point, I am just happy that he is coming home safe and sound. I can't be picky about WHEN that happens. God has a better plan then I could ever come up with--believe me, I've tried out-planning him!

That's the ARMY for you!

OK, so we have absolutely NO idea when he is coming home at this point. I was getting our stuff together to get on the road tomorrow evening, but as of tonight there is no definitive word on the flight's manifest. However, I did learn that he would not actually be here until Saturday--as the flight would leave there on Friday. SOOOOOO... We MAY be leaving on Thursday evening to arrive on Friday evening to my friend Amy's house. She has so thoughtfully opened her home to us, so me and the kids will spend the night there before we pick up Bryan. Another person from our church in LA has also offered up a room! So, between those two places we hopefully won't have to pay for many nights in a hotel! Praise God!

I will update here as soon as I have any more info on what is going on with Bryan's return. No matter what, it is SOOOOON!

ummmmmm.... OMG.

Before the OMG news... a few pics from the past few days!

Before... our bathroom

After.... YEA!

THESE babies are ready to see DADDDDDYYYYYYY!!!!

The back of Kayne's WELCOME HOME shirt...

Here is the blanket that I am making for both of the kids. It will contain info on a few of the stars about the deployment. The date that daddy left, the day Uncle Marcus died, the amount of days that Daddy was gone, etc. I am excited to give it to them! It will serve as a reminder of the sacrifices that they made during this deployment, even as they get older.

Now, here is the OMG news....
So, Bryan called tonight and said that there are two possible dates for him to be coming home... and neither is the 12th. LOL! Way to go, ARMY. Anyways, the new date would put him home before the end of the business week THIS WEEK.

Can we say TGIF?!?!?!?!?!

I honestly can't believe that he could be home so soon. I am currently trying to get everything ready to go, but I was working on the schedule of leaving on Friday and spending the night in Pensacola and then continuing to Fort Polk the next day. However, depending on the amount of notice that we get... we may have to drive straight through in order to have a night there before he gets home.

We are still awaiting a miracle from God on a place to stay, but I know that it is coming and that it will be affordable as well. I am also still believing that I will find my digital camera before we leave... I'm learning to trust in Him and not myself (or my plan) and praise Him in advance... before I even see His plan. It is difficult, but I know that it is helping me mature in my relationship with Him. Praise God!

Here are a few pictures from the last couple of days in our NEW house! It's still a mess, but we are putting things away slowly and getting things done. Now that we have space, I want to organize our stuff instead of just throwing it different places to make it look better. It probably sounds crazy to most people, but I would rather have the boxes sitting around in the house so that I am forced to see the mess. I don't like the idea of putting the boxes in the garage to get the mess out of the house. For me, it is soooo true--'out of sight, out of mind.' If I were to put everything out there, I would just look for the things that I needed and leave the rest there until Bry came home.
UPDATE ON BRY
Sooooo... here's the latest on Bry's situation. As of right now, he is told that he will arrive on the 12th to Ft Polk. If that continues to be the plan, then we will leave Florida on the 9th and stop in Pensacola to spend the night with Bry's Aunt and Uncle. That overnight stop will split up the trip, and make it easier for the kids (and Mommy :-) ). We will know more about his ACTUAL arrival date as it gets closer.... but I am SO excited just thinking that next week at this time I will be about to leave for Ft Polk to pick him up!!! YEAAAAA!!!
