I'm Baaaaaack!!

The past month has been a blur! We have been 'going' non-stop and I haven't had time to update everyone on our escapades. My apologies! Bryan did amazing things to this house while he was here, and it is beginning to truly feel like our 'home' because of his hard work. I will be uploading pictures of his hard work soon, as I plan on trying to post at least twice a week on here now that life is back to semi-normalcy.

Bry had to go back to Ft. Polk to start his out-processing from the ARMY last Sunday (the day before his birthday... bummer!). So we are officially counting down the days until our forever begins! We are excited and nervous about our seperation from the military, but right now we know that God is calling us to come together as a family. We need time to grow together without the threat of a deployment looming over our heads. At this time in the world it is not realistic to think of getting stationed somewhere where you WON'T get deployed, and I honestly can't handle the thought of him leaving us again in 11 months--so we are taking this opportunity to exit the ARMY and explore other career options. After we lost Marcus, it definitely drove home the concept of life being finite... and we choose to spend our time together, instead of apart 50% of the time.

Whew! Moving forward~ LOL!
The pictures below show me and Granna making strawberry jam today. Her personal goal is to make me a TRUE housewife, and so far she is doing a great job! I am so grateful to have my Grandmother so close to us ( just around the corner ). It's so important to me for Kayne to spend as much time with her as possible--because she will be 90 this May and I know that he won't have a whole lot of time with her. He didn't get to spend enough time with Aunt Janie before she left us, and he only got a few days with Marcus before he left for Iraq. That will always make me sad... but we are blessed to have my Mom and Dad so close--as well as Granna. She said that he has been her salvation since losing my Aunt Janie around this time last year.

Me and Gram stirring the strawberries.

The finished product!!

Our official Jam tester

And the verdict is.... YUMMY!!

After the jam making and tasting, our little Van Gogh did some work :-)

Please check back with the blog for more pictures and videos of our time with Daddy the past month... I promise to update more often! We love you all!

Pneumonia...

So, our little man has pneumonia. He has been sniffly ever since Bryan got home and was sick right away. However, the other day he woke up and was seriously wheezy. I called his Dr and made an appt for the next day, thinking that it may clear up before we would need to go. It didn't, and we ended up at the Dr's taking x-rays the next morning. He was kind of short with us and did not tell me what to do for Kayne--just telling me that the nurse would call me if there was anything wrong with the xray reports. I was disappointed, because he is normally so thorough and helpful but we went home and carried on while waiting on a phone call.

His nurse called us about 3 PM and said that the xray indicated that Kayne had pneumonia, and that he needed to start a strong antibiotic. I knew that I wasn't crazy!! A mother knows their child, and I knew that my baby wasn't ok. Anyways, he has started getting a little bit better, but he still isn't going out of the house. I am posting a few pictures of him and his new favorite person from this week--ENJOY!!

Here, Daddy! Let me help with that!

I will kill those ants for you. You can just sit down with MaMa and take a break.

Time for Daddy to teach you the important things in life, Kayne.
